A multi-billion dollar global medical device company in San Diego is looking for a dynamic Privacy Program Manager. The role will assist company’s Privacy Office in establishing program management guidelines and practices to ensure effective, efficient, high-quality delivery that consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the company’s privacy leads. This person will manage multiple projects and will interact with multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams at all seniority levels, including leadership. The successful candidate should be able to quickly understand business needs and must have excellent communication skills, with strong experience in leading complex projects in a global environment. This position is based in San Diego.
Drive execution for the operational aspects of the privacy program from idea phase through to implementation.
Report on program progress and budget.
Develop and oversee project plans, schedules and resources and track milestones to completion.
Proactively manage risks and anticipate potential issues which pose a threat to achieving project goals; collaborate with regional privacy leads to identify resolutions and drive corrective actions.
Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels. Ensure all stakeholders are aware of project decisions and status. Keep executive sponsors informed via status presentations and appropriate escalations.
Manage through others; successfully influence cross-functional team members to achieve project goals.
Support team members and establish healthy, collaborative relationships.
Maintain enthusiasm, energy and focus in a variety of circumstances.
Bachelor’s degree required (information systems and/or business preferred)
At least 7 years of project and program management experience
Agile PM (APM) practices and procedures experience
Experience with programs managing compliance across global privacy laws (i.e. GDPR, HIPAA, PIPEDA)
Management Information Systems (MIS) Degree or MBA in Information Systems and/or Business
Project Management Professional (PMP) and Information Privacy Program Manager (CIPM) certifications a plus
