Patient Services Coordinator_Intake (Kearny Mesa)

Long Term Temp (> 30 Days)


A large healthcare organization in San Diego seeks a HomeCare Intake Coordinator who is responsible for entering & maintaining admission information for HomeCare patients into the electronic medical record system, including demographic, clinical & insurance information. The Intake Coordinator also obtains authorization & re-authorization for services to be provided from a variety of third party payors, including commercial health plans, PPOs, HMOs, MediCal, CCS & other guarantors. The Intake Coordinator works closely with clinical & billing staff to ensure optimum reimbursement for services rendered.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience within a healthcare organization or related field
  • H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • Basic knowledge utilization of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Experience within a health care office
  • Proficient in keyboarding (35+ WPM) and utilization of health care-related computer systems
  • Understanding of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree  
  • 3+ years of experience within a healthcare organization or related field
  • Experience in Intake functions, including: obtaining authorization from third party payors, proficiency with IDC9/IDC10 coding, home health, home infusion and home injectables reimbursement
