A Dynamic Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Closer in Anaheim, CA!


A. Doc Drawer

  • Reviews, prepares, and sends out closing disclosures (CD) for borrowers to sign.
  • Prepare and release loan closing documents to the designated closing agent.


B. Funder

  • Assembles and reviews the signed final loan documents; issue closing funds to closing agents; and delivers funded loans to the Mortgage Lending Servicing Department.
  • Audits general ledgers and other mortgage and equity related accounts to insure accuracy and timely recording and posting of all Mortgage Lending financial entries.



A. Doc Drawer


  • Work with title, escrow, settlement agents and attorneys to facilitate the closing of a residential loan.
  • Manage pipeline for loans that are cleared to close and ready for closing documents to be prepared; oversee Closing Docs Ordered loan status to ensure closing has been scheduled by closing agent.
  • Reviews loan approval and makes certain all UW conditions have been (or will be) met at closing.
  • Closely examines all information pertaining to fees & costs, rates, property information, vesting, final 1003, etc. in loan file to ensure the accuracy, completion, and timeliness of loan documents.
  • Complete the closing disclosure (CD) and verify compliance with RESPA, TRID and passes all federal and state laws & regulations.

Prepare Closing Documents

  • Perform Verbal Verification of employments.
  • Completes all required checklists, prepares loan closing documents, sends closing documents to closing agent, coordinate & schedule closing.
  • Communicate regularly with members and other team members to inform them of Closing Disclosure (CD) & Closing Docs Status and follow up with them for any required information.
  • Apply team and department “Best Practices” and continually work for process and service improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


B. Funder

Fund the Loan

  • Reviews signed loan documents for correct signatures, notary information, title reports and escrow instructions.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of the final closing statements prior to funding to ensure compliance with policies & procedures, Investor, and Conventional regulations and requirements.
  • Verifies loan amount, all fees, rates, discount points, broker rebates and other funding amounts.
  • Reconcile final figures to calculate wire amount and balance with closing agent.
  • Releases funds by wire transfer to entitled party upon clearance of outstanding conditions and any requests of Closing Agent to ensure timely funding and closing of the loan.
  • Books loan on the appropriate accounting system and sets up servicing file packet.
  • Reconciles appropriate general ledgers and share accounts to ensure accurate balancing of all mortgage and equity related accounts.
  • Enter appropriate CD/Doc & Funding information into loan processing systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Company and regulatory changes that effect the closing process.
  • Effective human relations skills in order to maintain positive and productive working relationships with all company’s departments.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to Mortgage Lending staff.
  • Organized, self-starter, innovative and team-oriented.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union operations and ability to integrate and communicate critical information to members, vendors, and other team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Mortgage lending experience and mortgage lending industry knowledge
  • Familiar with out of state lending
  • Knowledge of residential mortgage lending, including comprehensive working knowledge of closing documents, and escrow practices
  • Experienced in Conventional, FHA and VA loan programs for wet and dry states.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union operations and ability to integrate and communicate critical information to members, vendors, and other team members.
  • Basic knowledge in Mortgage Cadence, Symitar, and FICS systems
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Preferred Qualification:

  • B.A/B.S. degree in related field.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Mortgage Cadence, Symitar, and FICS systems.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience utilizing multiple software
