National Leader with 70+ years of success is expanding their Oceanside corporate accounting operations and is seeking several Accounts Payable Specialists.
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in the Accounts Payable department. This position oversees all aspects of vendor payables and will manage a team of AP professionals. The role provides financial support to the organization and completes payments through the processing of invoices, purchase orders, credit memos and payment transactions. The position will actively participate in the reconciliation activities at month end to ensure accurate and timely accounting entries.
Process and monitor all vendor payment agreements and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, and statements
Oversees Account Payable check runs
Reconciles payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate
Maintains vendor master files by entering new or updating vendor names and data
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions accurately and timely
Builds relationships with vendors, management, and employees
Responsible for year- end AP activities including year -end 1099 processing
Manages and mentors other account payable staff
Able to organize large amounts of data and create presentations for management review
Ability to multitask and prioritize work
Strong initiative, ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize multiple projects accordingly
Organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and dependable
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, leadership and team-management skills
At least 2 years of work experience in accounting and/or finance
Experience with accounts payable processing
Experience with industry planning tools
Excellent analytical and modeling skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Epicor
