A multi-billion dollar global medical device company in San Diego is looking for a dynamic Associate Privacy Analyst. The Associate Privacy Analyst contributes to all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to company’s Privacy Program. The role will report to the Privacy Senior Manager and be responsible for interacting across multiple businesses globally.
Performing privacy assessments
Completing vendor privacy reviews
Collaborating with the business to design effective privacy controls
Partnering with Information Security to drive effective data protection controls
Aligning external privacy notices to internal privacy operations
Partnering with legal on privacy complexities
Staying abreast of global privacy legislation and regulatory requirements
Support Privacy Incident Response process.
Leading a cross-organizational privacy incident response team
Coordinating data breach notifications, if applicable
Serve as internal advisor to the business to efficiently and effectively manage
Internal and external privacy inquiries.
Address privacy requirements / considerations within different digital platforms (i.e. mobile apps, health devices, social platforms, etc.).
Drive privacy training and awareness across globally (including business partners, sales, customers, service providers, consumers and IT product vendors).
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse client base.
At least 2 years’ of experience in privacy, data protection, security, risk management and/or compliance
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, law, computer science, or a related discipline
Experience working in a highly regulated and/or audited environment
Experience with B2B and B2C environments
2-5 years’ of experience in privacy, data protection, security, risk management and/or compliance; Preferably in the digital health industry
Familiarity or experience with cloud computing, online services, mobile/web applications and enterprise applications
Exceptional business judgment, with the ability to give practical advice by balancing business needs with privacy risks
The position may be required to travel internationally (2 weeks per year on average), although will depend on situational requirements
