A global leader in financial services technology is looking for a talented SQL Data Analyst to join our team that performs work on a long term (multi-year) government contract in Downtown, Dallas. This position has two major roles, Data Transformation and providing Financial System Application Support. The successful candidate has substantial data transformation experience using SQL as well as experience with banking platforms and loan or deposit data. This role will also perform general project support to the application development teams that are creating applications used by financial institutions.
Data Transformation duties include:
Participates in data gathering and data analysis
Maps data from external applications to our internal applications
Transforms data to standard formats
Ensures data integrity and consistency is maintained in the conversion, processing and reporting of data from an external entity
Researches and resolves discrepancies and creates and provides reports for review and distribution.
Application Support duties include:
Providing application, system, database, and other technology support to users
Supporting existing applications and tools used in the data resolution process
Documenting issues with existing applications
Providing technical support for database and access issues related to these applications
Responding to requests for information about applications
Analyzing current processes and recommending changes
Developing custom reports and data extracts from applications
Four (4) years of progressive technical experience in data mapping, transformations, profiling, file conversions, analysis, and similar functions.
Four (4) years of experience writing queries, developing stored procedures, creating views, and creating other database objects utilizing Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL.
A minimum of Four (4) years of progressive experience working on application development completing requirements gathering, documenting changes, performing testing, and supporting users.
Experience working on or supporting IT projects in the financial services industry.
Substantial experience with data transformation and data analysis software.
Advanced skills writing SQL for querying and transforming data.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Knowledge of financial operations and procedures involving entering, modifying and correcting information in a computerized system to assure accuracy.
Ability to develop, analyze and advise on improved methods to increase use of automated work procedures.
