A global leader in financial services technology is looking for a talented member to join our team that will perform work on a long term (multi-year) government contract in Downtown, Dallas. This position has two major roles, Reconciling Bank Data and providing Financial System Application Support.
The Data Reconciliation duties include:
Data gathering and analysis for pre-closing and closing
Mapping data and codes standards
Reconciling asset/liability data received to the institutions balance sheet to ensure completeness and accuracy
Resolving data discrepancies
Reconciling and validates reports prior to distribution
The Application Support duties include:
Providing application, system, database, and other technology support to users
Supporting existing applications and tools used in the data resolution process
Documenting issues with existing applications
Providing technical support for database and access issues related to these applications
Responding to requests for information about applications
Analyzing current processes and recommending changes
Developing custom reports and data extracts from applications
A minimum of Six (6) years of experience performing accounting reconciliations or financial audits in the financial services industry.
A minimum of Four (4) years of experience performing detailed analysis of asset and liability data for a financial institution.
A minimum of Four (4) years of progressive experience working on application development completing requirements gathering, documenting changes, performing testing, and supporting users.
A minimum of Four (4) years of experience writing queries, developing stored procedures, creating views, and creating other database objects utilizing Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL.
Experience working on Rapid Application Development (RAD) and using agile principles
Experience working on or supporting IT projects in the financial services industry.
General knowledge of SQL or other data transformation tools used in the financial services industry which may include: experience writing queries, developing stored procedures, creating views, and creating other database objects utilizing Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL.
Experience working with an application development team with experience completing requirements gathering, documenting changes, performing testing, and supporting users.
Substantial experience with accounting and general ledger processing in the financial services industry.
Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.
Ability to deal effectively and communicate with individuals at all levels.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written communications.
