A large publicly traded company and on of Los Angeles' premier employers is looking to hire an Engineer (Level 1) to provide support to an internal engineering team that compiles data for engineering compliance and oversight.
Perform detailed data review activities through custom Microsoft Access based applications, Excel spreadsheets, company workflow management web applications, and document management systems.
Review various construction records such as pressure test charts, completion drawings, weld maps, material test reports, design data sheets, and various material traceability documentation to verify pipeline attributes for pipe grade, wall thickness, operating pressures, pressure test attributes, etc.
Collect ad hoc work order data collection in data form templates for GIS updates.
Perform a variety of Ad-hoc data conflict resolution for pipeline work orders and data content.
Maintain various team logs and work trackers for noting workflow production activities.
Act as liaison between the GIS Management Data Collection team and project construction close-out reconciliation specialists for resolving issues in data deliverables.
Frequent verbal and written communication with peers and internal clients.
A bachelors degree in any engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, environmental etc.)
A valid California driver license.
Strong understanding of data analysis in MS Excel including pivot tables and vlookups.
Experience with MS Access for filtering and reviewing tables
A basic understanding of pipeline design, planning, construction project record reconciliation.
Engineering drawing, schematic, and facility map interpretation skills for pipeline facilities.
Pipeline facility utility work experience or applicable field/technical training in the oil/gas pipeline utility industry.
