Are you an experienced, detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor who can successfully aid applicants in navigating the mortgage lending process? Our client is currently seeking a skilled and high-producing processor to work with their Mortgage Loan Officers on their team.
Responsibilities:
Collect and verify necessary financial documentation, such as credit reports, to complete mortgage loan applications and determine creditworthiness
Ensure loan files meet lending and regulatory guidelines and policies
Maintain detailed documentation of the process in our system - from origination to close
Order property and loan documentation such as appraisals, inspections, title searches, site surveys, contracts, and property tax records to help process mortgage loan files
Put together loan packages and submit to lender underwriting for approval or denial
Perform a general evaluation of an application (financial documents, mortgage type, etc.)
Gather all important data from client (assets, debts, etc.)
Verify information and references by contacting the right sources
Correct mistakes and investigate inconsistencies
Submit completed loan files for appraisal
Act as point of contact between loan officers, underwriters and clients
Conduct a final review of the file before closing
Basic Qualifications:
At least 2 years of current loan processing experience required
Experience in mortgage lending and knowledge of loan types, such as FHA, FHLB, FNMA, or VA loans required
Proficient in mortgage loan computer software with 1+ years utilizing Encompass
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement
Associate’s degree in Accounting, finance, or business, preferred
Superb analytical skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
Proven experience as mortgage loan processor or similar position for 5+ years
Error-free in the ability to multi-task
Can handle difficult situations and customers with grace
Familiarity in sending Closing Disclosures
Familiar with all different income types
Familiar with VA, DPA, MCC, FHA, Conventional and Jumbo loan products
Understanding of loan underwriting and processing procedures
Outstanding customer service skills
Well-organized and able to handle pressure
