Staff Accountant

A large publicly traded company and one of San Diego’s premier employers is looking to hire a staff accountant to support a general accounting group. The successful candidate should have a degree in accounting and finance and a year of GAAP experience- however recent graduates and entry level candidates will be considered.


Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant performs accounting, reporting and financial assignments under the direction of senior staff, supervisor and/or manager. Identifies operational and accounting issues within individual area of responsibility. Collaborates with senior staff, supervisor and/or manager to develop solutions.

Performs cash reconciliations from the company’s general ledger to the bank. Whenever there are discrepancies, actively assist the business groups to resolve all reconciling items in a timely manner

Prepares internal and external reports.

Maintains accounting and financial records of the Company.

Processes and/or supports the processing of financial transactions.

Responds to inquiries of departments, auditors, and employees.

Retrieves Unclaimed monies for all company’s entities

Promptly attends to all notices received from the State on unclaimed properties held by different entities, and actively searches in all states and cities unclaimed monies


Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related business administration field.
  • A valid drivers license


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requires problem solving skills and knowledge of financial methodologies and techniques.
  • Prior experience in SAP and BW highly desired.
  • Requires knowledge of accounting methods and techniques and the ability to apply both in problem solving.
