Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting various areas in the accounting function, primarily focused on general ledger accounting, month end close support and supervision of Accounts Payable. The Senior Accountant will also participate in special projects as they arise from identified processes or audit concerns. A person in this position will need to be self-motivated, have strong communication skills, and be a team player.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and create process workflow and streamline various accounting processes for tracking and reporting.
  • Prepares monthly financial statement reports and other monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Running reports, interpreting results, creating financial models and making recommendations on accounting treatment.
  • Responsible for various general ledger activities.
  • Assists with the year-end financial audit.
  • Prepares reconciliations and complex general journal entries for multiple entities and locations.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable process and staff.
  • Prepare documentation for External Auditors.
  • Maintains accounting records in a complex, computerized financial accounting system.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Ability to complete work in a confidential manner and in a fast-working environment.
  • Ability to analyze routine and non-routine financial situations, solve problems, and present alternatives; skills in preparing and analyzing complex financial reports.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to remain positive and resilient while working under pressure and against deadlines.
