An established General Contractor, with a 40 year track record and recognized leader in its industry, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team in Carlsbad, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity that is 100% onsite.
Ensure that the regular and prevailing wage/certified payroll is processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
Ensure the government agency rules and reporting deadlines are met and adhered to consistently.
Calculate and process timecards and corrections, including calculating overtime, deductions, per diems, subsistence, fringe benefits etc. in accordance with company policies and State, Federal and Union laws.
Initiate, process and manage all remittance for hourly and salaried staff, including 401k, benefits, apprenticeship, journeymen dues, workers compensation remittances/audits, garnishments and payroll taxes.
Communicates with all personnel in a polite professional manner
Enter weekly certified payroll information into on-line portals such as LCP, DIR, E-mars etc.
Ability to use industry standard for regular and prevailing wage software efficiently.
At least 3 years of Certified Payroll processing experience within the construction industry required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
The ability to maintain confidential information when required by legal and ethical standards of professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
An understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
Must be extremely organized, accurate, possess high level of attention to detail and be able to perform successfully under pressure and in a timely manner.
Sage 300 and HH2 experience a plus.
