Description:

A general contracting company focused at delivery state-of-the-art bio-tech, healthcare and commercial construction is seeking a Project Accountant to join their team immediately. This is a direct hire opportunity that is 100% onsite and you must feel comfortable working in-person in an office. 

As the Project Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the executive and project management teams with financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy of all financial reports and project billing, working to plan and oversee timely reporting and establishing as well as maintaining strong trade relationships with Owners and Vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting and project billing
  • Understand contract terms and assist project managers in performing project star-ups
  • Work with Project managers to provide accurate invoices to clients
  • Support project managers
  • Plan, schedule and oversee lower level accountants
  • Develop and recommend revisions to accounting systems and procedures
  • Review weekly time sheets
  • Monthly invoicing per contract
  • Ability to set up processes and procedures associated with Cost Controls and Cost to Complete Projections
  • Knowledge of budgeting, Master Contract and subcontract funding terms management and cash forecasting
  • Ability to identify project related risks
  • Set up new projects
  • Draw request process, including review of draw request documents
  • Report monthly billing and contract status for office
  • Monthly financial reporting to Owner

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2+ years prior experience as a Project Accountant within the construction industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage 100
  • Prior experience with at least 20+ billings per month

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintain knowledge on all best practices regarding accounting and finance
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Must be extremely organized, accurate, possess high level of attention to detail and be able to perform successfully under pressure and in a timely manner
  • Team-oriented and flexible attitude
