Description:

A pre-IPO pharmaceutical company is seeking a Controller to join their growing team and lead their accounting operations. As a Corporate Controller you will be a key leader and own accounting operations. This is a unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in supporting the company's growth and be part of the IPO process!

We are seeking someone with 10+ years of accounting experience and current controller experience preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry. The company offers excellent benefits, competitive pay, and the opportunity to join a growing company prior to the IPO.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CFO, you will be a key leader and own accounting operations, SEC compliance, audit management and GAAP reporting.
  • You will work closely with other members of the organization including executive management to drive operating efficiencies, deliver accurate financial results and ensure a strong system of compliance and controls.
  • Play a key role in building the company’s finance department in support of a growing business.
  • Own the monthly financial closing process and produce accurate financial reporting within tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for pre-IPO SEC filings including 10Q, 10K, and proxy.
  • Drive the audit process and manage the external audit relationship ensuring clean audit sign offs and efficient quarterly reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience in public accounting
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, including working knowledge of financial disclosure requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred
  • Experience in Big 4 or large public accounting firm
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry
