Our client, an elite property management company servicing Southern California since 1991, is offering an excellent opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join their Accounting department.

As the Accounting Manager, you are primarily responsible for the oversite of certain day-to-day accounting functions and for the review and/or preparation of monthly financial packages for an assigned portfolio of properties, as well as to supervise, train and develop staff. You will have the opportunity for advancement and growth within the organization as this firm looks to promote career-oriented staff members.


  • Review and/or record and ensure that all expenses, receipts, owner’s distributions and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted
  • Review and/or perform routine accounting functions/create and reconcile accounting entries while resolving discrepancies
  • Review and/or generate financial packages for accuracy and comprehensive reporting
  • Respond to and resolve issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports
  • Research open accounting issues and recognize potential issues and/or conflicts so corrective action can intercept and minimize issues
  • Cash management activities including reviewing and/or preparing bank reconciliations and determining owner distributions
  • Assist with special projects
  • Other accounting-related tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 5 years’ experience in accounting with prior experience supervising staff
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior accounting experience within property management or real estate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on Excel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Great people management skills with the ability to train and develop staff
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet monthly reporting deadlines
  • Well-developed understanding of accounting principles and systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact well with company staff, third parties and clients.
