Description:

A dynamic commercial real estate investment and management firm based in Sherman Oaks, CA is seeking a Property Accountant on a direct hire basis. As the Property Accountant  you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day accounting and finance functions for a real estate organization with a diversified portfolio of retail, industrial, office & residential properties.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare internal financial reports for management on a monthly basis to reflect the operational and financial status of the Company
  • Maintain general ledger and internal accounting controls
  • Prepare inter-company billings for field service maintenance, management fees and special projects
  • Maintain mortgage loans and lender reporting responsibilities
  • Maintain fixed asset depreciation and intangible amortization schedules
  • Monitor monthly construction project job costs
  • Reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and estimates
  • Facilitate the annual review of the Company’s consolidated financial statements with outside auditors
  • Facilitate the preparation of annual and individual tax returns with outside tax preparers

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • At least 2+ years of property accounting experience within the commercial or residential real estate industry 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel 

Preferred Requirements:

  • CPA 
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager
  • Team oriented individual 
  • Strong attention to detail
