Engineer I

A large publicly traded company and one of Los Angeles’ premier employers is looking to hire an Engineer who will be responsible for reviewing materiel specifications and providing their expertise through comments and changes to project documentation. They will respond to questions about their specific area of expertise and provide support to internal stakeholders. The Engineer will need to have a thorough understanding of industry standards so they can set specifications based on any applicable standard.

  • Must possess the ability to review problems and propose innovative solutions, which involve technical, operational, and economic issues, and may link new concepts and technologies.
  • Skillful in personal contacts when conducting investigations to obtain information and cooperation. Must possess initiative and decision-making skills.
  • Must have skills in organizing, planning, controlling and coordinating activities;
  • Must clearly and concisely communicate technical information and concepts with various levels of management in both formal and informal settings.
  • Must be able to prepare written communications on technical and non-technical matters for various levels of management.

 

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in any engineering discipline

A valid California driver license.

Strong understanding of data analysis in MS Excel including pivot tables and vlookups.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering

Experience with pipeline materials like valves, pipe and fittings that can carry a wide range of fluids like natural gas, fuel oil, triethylene glyxol, wastewater or hydrogen.

Experience with underground storage materials Knowledge of industry standards.
