Description:

A dynamic and rapidly growing leader in home-based healthcare services is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team immediately. As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the day to day administration of payroll process while working cross functionally within the Accounting Department. Responsibilities:

  • Manage company-wide payroll administration, to include:
  • Perform daily payroll department operations.
  • Manage workflow and ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Processing of bi-weekly payroll, to include maintaining employee information (deductions, taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, and support orders), reviewing earnings, processing payroll/financial reports.
  • Export and import pay, visit and mileage data from internal database into Paylocity.
  • Audit variable home health pay to ensure all data imported/exported accordingly.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
  • Ensure all locations meet proper cut-off dates and adhere to stated payroll deadlines.
  • Provides backup support for the Accounting Department as needed.
  • Screens timecards daily, enters timecard data with supervisor approval (as needed), reviews keyed entries, and verifies accuracy of data entry both daily and weekly for reasonableness and consistency.
  • Communicates with supervisors to correct and fix timecard issues.
  • Correspond with and for employees regarding payroll printouts of earnings, W-2’s, information requests and/or letters for employees wage information.
  • Processes voids, manual checks, review and enter payment adjustments, process garnishment payments.
  • First line contact for all employees regarding timecard records, payroll deductions, OT, pay, etc.
  • Continuously research and communicate wage and hour laws along with other payroll updates and regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR Team regarding specific initiatives, programs or company-wide issues affecting the payroll process.
  • Conducts business in a manner that displays a high level of confidentiality, sensitivity and integrity at all times.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of prior experience processing payroll.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at company corporate office.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to handle confidential matters and information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Prioritize daily issues, tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently; self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
