A dynamic and rapidly growing leader in healthcare services is seeking a Payroll Manager to report to their VP of Finance. As the Payroll Manager, your responsibilities include: creating, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing processes and systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Payroll Team accurately and timely processes all payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the payroll team and assigning duties.
  • Directing the collection, computing, and documentation of payroll data.
  • Create, establish, and delegate payroll process processes as needed.
  • Overseeing and reviewing payroll payments and account reconciliations.
  • Ensuring records and processes comply with company and federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Coordinating with HR and accounting to verify employee data and accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate account balances and detailed records for auditing.
  • Maintains payroll team performance by counseling employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Managing and resolving any issues related to payroll.
  • Preparing reports and financial statements.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Additional tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7+ years of prior payroll processing experience.
  • At least 3+ years of prior managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll with a large organization (greater than 500 employees)
  • Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel) and payroll software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, ability to deliver complicated subject matter in a manner that is easy to understand.
  • Strong ability to relate to individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to present themselves professionally and ethically.
  • Sensitive to corporate needs, internal customer needs, and company’s public presence.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
